AWS Realistic Off-Road
Surface-sensitive vehicle handling with configurable sinkage, traction, tires and area exclusions.
Installation
Requirements
- FiveM; no framework or database resource is declared by this package
Startup order
This example selects one framework and target. Use the resources matching your configuration and start dependencies first.
ensure aws-realofrooad
Setup steps
- Keep the folder name aws-realofrooad exactly as supplied.
- Review custom MLO surfaces and add problem areas to Config.areaBlacklist before public use.
- Test vehicles with and without off-road tires. No SQL import is required.
Gameplay and usage
- Drive comparable vehicles over asphalt, sand and mud to compare the configured surface behavior.
- Enable Config.debug temporarily to inspect surfaces using /surfaceDebug, then turn it off again.
Configuration
- config.lua: Config.generalDepthDifficulty, generalSinkageSpeed and generalTractionLoss tune the general behavior.
- Config.offroadTires and awdUpgrade configure vehicle modifiers.
- Config.refreshRate changes the update interval; higher values can make the visual effect less smooth.
- Config.areaBlacklist excludes locations. Config.debug enables surface debugging.
Exports and integrations
aws-realofrooad.GetCurrentDepth— seeaws-realofrooad/client/editable/editable.luafor its arguments and client/server context.
Troubleshooting
-
Unexpected sinking near an MLO can come from its material settings; blacklist the affected location.
-
Conflicting handling scripts can override the same vehicle values; test this resource separately first.
-
Include the package version, framework and exact server/F8 error when requesting support. Remove private tokens and player data.

Frequently asked questions
Does this need Keymaster or an escrow key?
The Lua sources in this delivery package were readable in the static audit. No /assetpacks requirement is added by this package. Required framework, inventory and map resources still need to be installed separately.
Can I change the folder or database table names?
Keep the supplied folder names. Historical event, SQL and KVP identifiers are retained to protect existing integrations and saved data. Renaming a table or event requires a separate migration.
Why is an interface or item missing?
Check the startup order, selected framework/target adapter, inventory item definitions and the server/F8 console. The package does not install an entire framework or inventory for you.
Has this been tested on my server?
ZIP integrity, source readability, script syntax and manifest references were checked locally. Multiplayer gameplay, your framework version and integrations require a FiveM server acceptance test before a public release.
